Business Architect

Job Overview

The Business Architect is responsible for designing, optimizing, and managing business processes and systems across the organization to ensure smooth, efficient operations that align with organizational goals. This role focuses on enhancing process efficiency, driving system integration, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Working closely with the COO and leadership team, the Business Architect ensures that enterprise operations are consistent, scalable, and aligned with business needs. Additionally, the Business Architect partners with the CISO to seamlessly integrate security and regulatory requirements into all enterprise processes, ensuring compliance and risk management are embedded into the fabric of business operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

1. Enterprise Systems & Process Architecture

  • Design, implement, and manage operational systems and business processes across the organization, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.
  • Develop enterprise-wide operational frameworks that support consistency, scalability, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to integrate IT systems with business processes, ensuring seamless workflows and optimized performance.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of current operational workflows, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

2. Process Optimization & Standardization

  • Lead the continuous improvement of enterprise processes by identifying inefficiencies and implementing optimized solutions that enhance performance and reduce operational risks.
  • Establish and maintain operational standards, ensuring that all processes are well-documented, standardized, and scalable across different departments.
  • Apply methodologies such as LEAN and Six Sigma to optimize workflows and drive operational excellence, reducing waste and enhancing efficiency across the organization.
  • Implement automation and process management tools to streamline operations, reduce manual tasks, and improve overall efficiency.

3. Change Management & Implementation

  • Oversee the implementation of process improvements and system upgrades, ensuring smooth integration with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Manage change control processes, ensuring any modifications to systems, services, or processes are properly assessed, documented, and communicated across the organization.
  • Lead the operational change management efforts, ensuring new processes, technologies, and systems are adopted effectively across departments.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with functional leaders, business units, and IT teams to ensure operations are fully integrated and aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into operational and system design solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring that business needs are met through technology solutions and process design.
  • Drive cross-functional teamwork to align process design and system implementation with business outcomes.

5. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational performance and process efficiency, making recommendations for improvement as necessary.
  • Regularly evaluate and adjust operational systems and processes to ensure continuous alignment with business goals and evolving industry standards.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to assess the performance of operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and drive enhancements across the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions.
  • Skilled in working across business and technology teams to align systems and processes with enterprise objectives.
  • Expertise in change management and process optimization methodologies such as LEAN and Six Sigma.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in roles such as Enterprise Operations Architect, Business Process Engineer, Project Management, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of systems architecture, business process management, and enterprise-level system integration.
  • Experience with operational performance metrics and process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required in support of on-site meetings, projects and customers, primarily local and statewide.
