Position Summary
The Community Engagement and Marketing Specialist is responsible for fostering strategic relationships with key organizations, driving MyHealth’s presence through industry events, and supporting marketing and communications efforts. A significant focus of this role will be building relationships with associations and partner organizations to promote MyHealth and secure opportunities for speaking engagements, event participation, and collaboration. In addition, this role will support the identification of grant opportunities, assist with marketing material development, and ensure the coordination of grant submission deadlines.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Relationship Building and Outreach Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture partnerships with healthcare associations, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance MyHealth’s visibility and engage new audiences.
- Manage and represent MyHealth at industry events, conferences, and community meetings to promote the organization and HIE services and ensure attendees are engaged with MyHealth’s message and offerings.
- Leverage relationships to secure opportunities for speaking engagements, panel discussions, and booth participation at industry conferences and events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with external partners to ensure consistent engagement and identify opportunities to collaborate on future initiatives.
- Gather insights from partners to shape marketing strategies and develop relevant messaging that resonates with target audiences.
2. Grant Management Responsibilities:
- Screen grant opportunities and bring viable prospects to the internal grants intake process for review.
- Assist in identifying potential grant partners based on established relationships and work to facilitate collaboration on joint applications.
- Once approved, provide support with grant submission processes by coordinating deadlines, branding, and required materials.
- Collaborate with the Grants Manager and other team members to ensure that grant documentation is accurate and that deadlines are met, while not directly responsible for writing grant proposals.
- Develop materials and manage reporting requirements for funders and MyHealth leadership.
- Explore and identify new funding sources to support MyHealth’s initiatives.
3. Marketing and Communications Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of marketing materials, promotional content, and campaigns aligned with feedback from associations and partners.
- Support the creation and management of content for MyHealth’s external communications and digital platforms, including social media, website updates, and external newsletters.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to develop and execute marketing initiatives that support outreach and community engagement efforts.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in building and managing partnerships with healthcare organizations, associations, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in marketing strategy development, including content creation, messaging, and campaign execution.
- Ability to gather and apply feedback from partners to improve outreach and marketing materials.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to coordinate events, manage relationships, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence external stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in grant management, public relations, outreach, or a related role, ideally within healthcare or nonprofit organizations.
- Proven experience in managing partnerships, grants, and outreach initiatives.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools, CRM systems, and grant tracking software.
- Knowledge of healthcare or health information exchanges (HIEs) is preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a remote position. The employee must have a private location from which to work, with Internet access and a personal smartphone with capability to be secured and have support for SMS, apps for multifactor authentication and remote hotspot (technology stipend provided to help offset costs). Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional virtual office environment (Remote). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, paper binders and paper cutters.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required in support of on-site meetings, projects and customers, primarily local and statewide.
