MyHealth Leadership Update

Citing growth and expansion, Oklahoma’s State Designated Entity for HIE is ready to seek full time CEO. Current COO Patricia Dysinger to serve as Interim CEO.

The MyHealth Access Network Board of Directors has appointed Patricia Dysinger to serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Dysinger has served as Chief Operating Officer since November 2023 and brings more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience to the role.

This transition comes as MyHealth, a nonprofit dedicated to improving healthcare quality and coordination, continues to grow and strengthen its impact across Oklahoma as the state-designated entity for health information exchange (HIE). Today, more than 600 organizations participate in the health information exchange, representing more than 2,200 locations across the state. Beyond Oklahoma, MyHealth has partnered with connxus, the nonprofit health information exchange in Central Texas, to extend its Health Data Utility technology across state lines and support better care coordination for patients who receive care in multiple regions. Throughout this growth, the MyHealth organization has been led by Dr. David Kendrick, who split time between leading his academic department of Medical Informatics at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine and MyHealth through a Professional Services Agreement. As the organization and its resources have grown, the opportunity to hire a full-time CEO has emerged, and a search committee is being formed to consider candidates.

“We are deeply grateful to Dr. Kendrick for his leadership and vision,” said Frank Gresh, MyHealth Board of Directors Chair. “MyHealth would not be where it is today without his commitment and hard work, and Oklahoma has better health outcomes and a more efficient healthcare infrastructure because of him. With an experienced team and strong leadership in place, the organization is well positioned to carry MyHealth’s mission forward.”

This progress builds on the foundation established by Dr. David Kendrick, who guided MyHealth’s growth into a trusted statewide utility after its founding in 2009. The foundation he established continues to support MyHealth’s mission of achieving the highest quality healthcare at the best value for Oklahomans. While this transition marks a change in his role, MyHealth looks forward to continuing to engage with Dr. Kendrick in ways that draw on his unique expertise and commitment to improving healthcare. “I am thankful to Patty for accepting this expanded role and look forward to supporting her,” said Dr. Kendrick, “and, most of all, I am excited to return my focus to developing the innovations necessary to achieve nationwide interoperability and health improvement enabled by broad deployment of Health Data Utilities nationwide.”

With this foundation and ongoing connection in place, the Board of Directors will soon begin a search for a permanent, full-time CEO to guide MyHealth’s next chapter. Looking ahead, MyHealth will continue advancing its mission through innovation, collaboration, and secure information exchange to improve outcomes for the communities it serves.

“MyHealth has delivered services to Oklahoman providers for many years, and those services will remain in place during this transition,” Dysinger said. “My focus will be on maintaining continuity and ensuring that day-to-day operations proceed without disruption. While transitions bring change, our commitment to consistent service remains a priority.”  For more information, contact myhealth@myhealthaccess.net
