Position Summary
The Tribal Relations Manager is responsible for developing, strengthening, and sustaining strategic relationships between MyHealth Access Network and Tribal Nations, tribal health systems, and tribal healthcare organizations across Oklahoma.
This position serves as MyHealth’s primary statewide relationship and engagement resource for tribal partners and provides dedicated expertise in tribal healthcare, government relations, strategic partnerships, interoperability, and community engagement.
The Tribal Relations Manager works closely with internal teams to ensure tribal partners receive coordinated support while identifying opportunities to strengthen participation, expand connectivity, increase utilization, and advance shared healthcare and health information exchange priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Tribal Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary statewide relationship contact for Tribal Nations and tribal healthcare organizations.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with tribal leaders, health administrators, clinical leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop a strong understanding of the unique healthcare priorities, governance structures, and operational needs of Tribal Nations.
- Represent MyHealth professionally in interactions with tribal leadership and organizations.
- Serve as an internal advocate for tribal partners and their priorities.
Statewide Tribal Engagement
- Develop and execute a statewide Tribal Engagement Strategy for MyHealth.
- Establish consistent engagement with Tribal Nations, tribal health systems, and healthcare organizations.
- Represent MyHealth at tribal meetings, conferences, workgroups, and community events.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration among Tribal Nations, healthcare organizations, payers, and community partners.
- Maintain awareness of emerging issues, initiatives, and opportunities affecting tribal healthcare and interoperability in Oklahoma.
Strategic Partnerships & Initiatives
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships that advance MyHealth’s mission and tribal healthcare priorities.
- Support grant opportunities, statewide initiatives, and projects involving Tribal Nations.
- Coordinate with state agencies and other strategic partners on initiatives involving tribal healthcare organizations.
- Support health information exchange, interoperability, data-sharing, and care coordination initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage MyHealth capabilities to address tribal healthcare priorities.
Engagement, Growth & Participation
- Identify opportunities to expand MyHealth participation among tribal healthcare organizations and affiliated facilities.
- Promote awareness and adoption of MyHealth products and services.
- Identify opportunities for additional data connections, interfaces, and interoperability services.
- Support retention and long-term engagement of tribal partners.
- Work with Account Relationship Managers to identify opportunities within their geographic territories while maintaining clear strategic ownership of the statewide tribal relationship.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Product and Analytics Teams to monitor adoption, utilization, workflow integration, and customer outcomes.
- Coordinate with Training and Adoption teams to identify enterprise-wide training and adoption opportunities.
- Work with Technical teams to communicate system-level interoperability needs, priorities, and opportunities.
- Coordinate with Finance regarding contracts and renewal opportunities.
- Ensure consistent communication across MyHealth teams and leadership regarding tribal engagement, opportunities, risks, and strategic initiatives.
Customer & Partner Advocacy
- Capture tribal partner feedback, priorities, success stories, and outcomes.
- Bring the tribal partner perspective into internal planning and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to demonstrate the value of MyHealth to Tribal Nations while respecting each organization’s preferences and protocols.
- Promote culturally respectful and collaborative engagement practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare administration, business, health information technology, public health, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in healthcare relationship management, community engagement, healthcare technology, public health, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with executive and organizational stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations and the Oklahoma healthcare ecosystem.
- Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple strategic relationships and initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Oklahoma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Tribal Nations or tribal healthcare organizations.
- Knowledge of Indian Health Service and/or tribal health systems.
- Experience with Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), Health Data Utilities (HDUs), population health, care coordination, value-based care, or health information technology.
- Established relationships within the Oklahoma tribal healthcare community.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution

Software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), CRM, and Helpdesk ticketing systems (such as Salesforce).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a remote position. The employee must have a private location from which to work, with Internet access and a personal smartphone with capability to be secured and have support for SMS, apps for multifactor authentication and remote hotspot (technology stipend provided to help offset costs). Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Working Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment (Remote). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, paper binders and paper cutters.

Occasional travel may be required in support of on-site meetings, projects and customers, primarily local and statewide.
